Hi There.
I’m Ally, a 9-5 professional in the Washington, D.C. area.
I wanted to start this blog as a way to bring together my love for style, policy, and sustainability. Although it may not be obvious, there is actually a lot of overlap - the fashion industry is one of the major contributors to waste in the world. Think about it. Every year you toss away clothes that don't fit anymore, are out of style, or that you just decide you don't like. I'm guilty of this too and for long time I have been someone who likes to keep up with trends and buy new things every season.
It's hard to feel like one person can make a difference but after learning about how harmful the fashion industry is, I am committed to trying to do better. That means buying less, choosing better quality clothes, and shopping secondhand when I can.
On this blog I am going to be sharing tips on how to make your closet more sustainable, information about the fashion industry, my journey learning about environmental policy, and other lifestyle changes I'm making to lessen my impact on climate change. I hope you enjoy my posts and learn something new!
